Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that teaches participants skills to recognize signs and provide support someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without formal medical training assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid equips a layperson to assist someone in crisis due to mental health and/or substance use challenges.| sswevents.unc.edu
