Dr. Stringer holds appointments in both the School of Medicine (OBGYN) and the Gillings School of Global Public Health (Epidemiology). He also serves as Associate Director for Research within UNC’s Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases. Between 2001 and 2012, Stringer lived in Lusaka, Zambia, where he co-founded and led the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ).
