The Front Range is part of the true Rocky Mountains of western America. The American Rockies are subdivided into three physiographic provinces - the Southern Rockies, the Middle Rockies, and the Northern Rockies. The Front Range is in the Southern Rockies - this includes mountain ranges in New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.
