Remember when my September was filled with interesting reads? Well, October carried on that good reading streak. I read 10 books—4 of which were rereads—and I thoroughly enjoyed most of them. My reading in March was a mixed bag. I'm really satisfied with it. I finished reading 12 books—11 ebooks and 1 paperback, and I DNFed 9 books. I used to never DNF books but I started recently as it helps to avoid reading slumps and to read more books, and I'm now DNFing almost everything that I'm not enjoying. It's the only reason I read 12 books this month. I wouldn't have if I stayed with books I didn't like.| the wordy habitat
April felt like a long month, and I'm not sure I remember much about the books I read. I procrastinated for almost a week before writing this post because of that. But then, if I don't write down what I remember now, I will forget it later. So here I finally am, with mini-reviews on all my April reads. I read 14 books in April. I am really happy with the fact that I read 3 paperbacks and 3 audiobooks. My reading wasn't 90% ebooks for once.| the wordy habitat
When I'm sick, sad, frustrated, or tired and want an emotional hug, I always pick up my "comfort books." Whether I vent about it to a friend or not, my mood isn't fixed until I read a good comforting book. Sometimes, I read the entire book. Sometimes, I read a part of it. Sometimes, I skim all of it. Sometimes, I read just a chapter or two. I may read more than one book. I do whatever I feel like I need and it always makes me feel better. There are books that hook you and stay with you for a long time. I loved Remnants of a Separation as I read it and appreciated it much more in the weeks after I finished it.| the wordy habitat
