Dr. Kerri Schuiling, PhD, NP emeritus, CNM (ret), FACNM, FAAN, was introduced to nursing at an early age. She was close to her maternal grandmother, who was a nurse and a social worker. Dr. Schuiling recalls her grandmother talking about caring for area families, particularly those living in poverty.
