The Academy of Science Engineering and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL) was founded by Gavriel Salvendy (UCF-NAE), Nicholas Garber (UCF-NAE), and Michael Georgiopoulos (dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, UCF), at the direction of Provost Dale Whittaker (UCF). Each year, the Florida Chapter, College of Cardiology (FCACC) recognizes dedication to and excellence in cardiovascular medicine in the state of Florida. These distinct and special awards are presented at the Annual Meeting.
