Camelopardalis is a large constellation in the northern sky. It represents the giraffe. The constellation is home to an asterism known as Kemble's Cascade, the open cluster NGC 1502, and the spiral galaxy NGC 2403.| www.constellation-guide.com
The redshift and velocity field have been measured in an unusual "integral sign" galaxy. The object has the very large over-all dimension of 45 kpc, has no nuclear concentration of stars, and contains much ionized gas. It is not in interaction with any other galaxy. A velocity gradient was measured; if due to rotation, it yields an approximate mass of 5 X 1010 cosec2 Mo ( being the unknown angle of inclination) The evolutionary stage of the object is discussed.| ADS
We summarize results from an HI+optical imaging study of the ``Integral Sign'' galaxy, UGC3697. UGC3697 is a low-mass, Sd spiral that exhibits a ``superthin'' disk morphology despite a prounced gasous and stellar warp. Our new observations show evidence for a recent minor merger in this system that could account for its large-scale warp and a number of other properties of this galaxy. We speculate that UGC3697 has been caught in a rather short-lived dynamical state, and may soon undergo signi...| arXiv.org
Dubhe, Alpha Ursae Majoris (α UMa) is a spectroscopic binary star in Ursa Major constellation. It is part of the Big Dipper and known as one of the Pointer Stars.| Star Facts
Ursa Major, the Great Bear, is the largest constellation in the northern sky. It is home to the Big Dipper asterism, formed by its seven brightest stars, and to many well-known deep sky objects.| www.constellation-guide.com
