Our lab studies how brain-wide networks of neurons work together to make decisions and select relevant sensory information. These internal processes support flexible behavior in changing environments and are often impaired in brain disorders.| School of Biological Sciences
Tim Kim joined the Allen Institute and the University of Washington as a Shanahan Foundation Fellow in December 2024. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from Princeton University, where he worked with Carlos Brody and Jonathan Pillow. During his PhD, Tim developed unsupervised methods for discovering interpretable latent dynamics in high-dimensional neural data. Before that, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked with Joshua Gold.| Allen Institute
