After 200 years, the daughter of an American president is back home in Virginia. Eliza Monroe Hay was the daughter of founding father and fifth U.S. President, James Monroe. Due to her mother’s ailing condition, Hay frequently fulfilled the duties of the first lady during Monroe’s two terms. Leaving her family behind in Virginia, Hay died in Paris.
