Here’s a quick summary of the tools I’ve picked up along the way in 2024 that I continuously find useful. I’ve divided the list into three sections, first one comprised mostly of general shell “helpers” that are part of my day to day workflow one way or another. Recently I have begun migrating my workstation and laptop from Gentoo to NixOS. There are a great deal of tradeoffs between the two operating systems. Before going into the details, consider where I’m coming from and why I moved away from Gentoo below. Why was I running Gentoo on workstations??
