I wrote a pretty substantial post this morning reflecting on August and talking about my goals for September and such, but Bear Blog unfortunately ate it, and I don't think I have it in me to try to write it in-depth again. So this will be kind of a short one.| Syl's Blog
This is how I used to discover music when I was a teen: I would listen to the radio and hear a song I'd never heard before and that I really dug. I'd wait for the DJ to tell me the song title and artist, or I'd go on the station's website to see what their current rotation was and try to determine it from there. Then I'd download the song and a few more from the artist on Limewire, and if I liked enough of their music, I'd go to a shop and buy their CD.| Syl's Blog
I read nine books this month, more than I've read in a month in quite some time. Most of them are horror or thriller because that's the genre I enjoy the most, but there's a bit of fantasy and historical fiction in the mix. Here are the books I read in August, with my thoughts on them, ranked in order from most loved to least loved.| Syl's Blog
Today's journal prompts come from Sophie Cliff again. I wasn't sure what to write about, so I thought I'd choose some more prompts to do. These are all focused around positivity.| Syl's Blog
Here are some more small games I've enjoyed lately! All of these games are free to play and you can play them right in your browser, but please consider supporting indie devs if you particularly enjoy their games.| Syl's Blog
Phew, we still have a few days left of Blaugust, and I'm going to admit, I'm struggling a bit. It's hard to come up with something to post about every single day, and I've missed a few days as well. I do have plans for a couple of end-of-the-month posts, so I'm looking forward to those. I'm planning on posting about the books I've read this month and some more small games I've played.| Syl's Blog
I've mentioned before that Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is one of my favorite ways to help with productivity. Well, today it got an expansion pack called Spirit City: All Aboard! It comes with a new train location that you can fully customize and decorate, along with new spirits to unlock. I have a deep love for trains, so this DLC is right up my alley. I've already decorated my train in autumnal goth vibes.| Syl's Blog

Back in 2020, I bought the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on itch.io, and I'm still trying to make my way through some of the games. With over 1,000 in total, there's more than I'll ever be able to play in my lifetime, but I'm glad I have so many to choose from!| Syl's Blog

When I first started working on the art for this here videogame, my intention was to veer off into something a bit more cartoony than what I’ve settled on. Think something along the lines of what Rare did rebooting Jetpac for Xbox Live sort of thing but more Beano than cool because I am more Beano than cool.| Rob Notes
Pretty much everything I’m working on for DRM is art right now, I’m trying to nail down the style I’m trying to achieve so there’s a fair bit being thrown out or filed for later and, well, just generally working out how on Molyneux’s green Earth I’m supposed to get this stuff from my head to the screen.| Rob Notes

I haven’t managed to make a videogame in a decade. For someone who loves making videogames (I also hate making videogames, it’s just how things work) this is kinda less than ideal. Last night was our regular raid night once again in Final Fantasy XIV. We had made some attempts on Ravana last week, but didn't quite take him down. It's a fairly complicated and movement intensive fights with a number of mechanics where you have to get hit once and only once by a particular attack. There are two different attacks Ravana has where he flys around diving on members of the raid. The attack is unavoidable when he's targeting you, but it applies a debuff that makes you extremely ...| Thalen Speaks
I'm intending to start my examination of my D&D collection up again for Mondays, but that requires some research and such that I haven't been able to do yet for the upcoming item. So instead, a little more talk about Diablo 3.| Thalen Speaks
First off, it seems like something went wonky with my feed so my post yesterday didn't get picked up by my Twitter account. The twitterfeed integration is kind of slow at the best of times, but this time it just didn't work at all. No idea why, hopefully it'll work today. In any case, if you're coming here via Twitter, yes there was post yesterday, it's over here.| Thalen Speaks

I've been trying to think of what to write about without a whole lot of luck. I've got some things to say about Stellaris, but I don't really have my thoughts totally organized on that. I don't feel like I've done anything else in Final Fantasy that warrants more discussion of that. And that's really all the gaming I've been doing recently. I suppose there are a couple of mobile games, but I don't have a lot to say about them at the moment.| Thalen Speaks
Now that I'm back playing Final Fantasy XIV, I will of course be participating in any limited time game events that come along. Of course there are the holiday events that we get every year, the next one of which starts tomorrow and has a Super Sentai theme this time around. But right now, there is a collaboration event going on with Yo-kai Watch. And I love it.| Thalen Speaks

Last night was, I believe, the fourth night of our recently reconstituted raid team's journey through the content that has been added to Final Fantasy XIV in our absence. Having made our way through the 5th through 7th stages of the Alexander raid we found ourselves facing what most of our group referred to as Voltron. I know who he really is though. He's Bruticus.| Thalen Speaks
Another year has passed and Blaugust has come around again. Another opportunity to try and get in a habit of regular blogging. I made it a good few months keeping at least a weekly schedule after Blaugust ended last year; perhaps I'll be able to keep it going longer this time around. I would like to pick up the ongoing D&D and book review features I was doing and get them going again. I haven't decided yet if I want to go back and review books I've read in the interim, or just start fresh. Th...| Thalen Speaks
