Auto-classification is a valuable process for adding context to unstructured content. Nominally speaking, some practitioners distinguish between auto-classification (placing content into pre-defined categories from a taxonomy) and auto-tagging (assigning unstructured keywords or metadata, sometimes generated without a taxonomy).
