Today, we have the privilege of seeing SoHo from a new point of view, one that I am quite sure you’ve never experienced. Photographer Stan Patz lived on Prince Street for 48 years. He made his living as a commercial photographer, as many SoHo photographers did, to pay the rent. He also shot exquisite, detailed photographs that bring to mind the chiaroscuro paintings of the great masters.| SoHo Memory Project.
On This Spot, a feminist art history nonprofit founded in 2021, tells the stories of a diverse group of women artists’ lives through short-form documentary videos. Their mission is to put women artists on the map, literally, by mapping the places where women artists “lived and worked, ate and drank, dreamed, laughed, danced, and found the inspiration and community to create their art.” The post On This (SoHo) Spot: Stories of Pioneering Women Artists appeared first on SoHo Memory Proj...| SoHo Memory Project.
