This paper considers how a simple resource can support object learning for young children with low science capital in school groups. The resource was successful by encouraging children’s movement and gestures in relation to objects. It is argued that a focus on movement and gesturing is of particular importance for low science capital young children as such embodied cognition does not require specific understanding or vocabulary.
