I keep on seeing this come up where people want to support someone on Patreon but not be on the patron Discord. They’ll leave the Discord and then get automatically readded and it becomes incredibly frustrating. For years there was nothing you could do about this except either stop being a patron or ask the Discord in question to ban you (which could have other awful side effects, and make it much more difficult to rejoin if you actually want to).| busybee: General Articles
Had some network issues over the past few days which made some syncing and uploading difficult. I switched on the BBC Micro earlier to play Football Manager for the Adventures in BBC Micro series. Unfortunately, I won't be switching it on again. Before I kick off playing Football Manager, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the original cassette and inlay. The terrain is created and rendered, but due to limitations with World Machine and memory I can only work with areas 150 x 150 miles, so merging them properly is a key part of being able to do this. After years of trial and error it is still a struggle, but the results are getting better and better. I’ve now created the Shield Land tile, and all its neighboring tiles and blend them together. The results are 90% satisfactory right away, but with a few key issues needing manual editing to fix.| Anna B. Meyer
There are two pieces of big news I want to shared with you. The first is that I have launched the first installment of my new physical zine for my Patreon titled The Oneironaut. It is a zine that shares my second thoughts, items from the cutting room floor, previews of things that are ready, but won’t printed for a long time in Through Ultan’s Door. Donald and Kristin are back from our two-week trip to Japan, and more or less recovered from jet lag. After a disappointing start involving an unexpected overnight stay in San Francisco due to a canceled flight, we did arrive in Tokyo, albeit one day later than expected. We visited Tokyo, Fukuoka, Kobe, and Kyoto, and had wonderful weather for most of our vacation (high 70s or low 80s and sunny; except that it always rained when we were in Tokyo).| Mysterion

Since its initial release in the February 1992 issue of Nakayoshi, the Sailor Moon manga has gone through four major reprints in Japan – the original Nakayoshi print, the compilation tankobon print (early 90s), the re-mastered 'shinsoban' reprints (early 2000s), and the 'kanzen' (early 2010s). by Walter Chaw I’ve spent decades predicting the fall, but when the fall came, I certainly didn’t feel like doing a victory lap. When the pandemic shut down everything for a while, I realized that my worst fears had come true, and then, for the first time in as long as I could remember, my depression quieted like a rash that’s lost its savagery. Respite, because my worst fears weren’t looming anymore–they’d finally arrived. All that was left to do was find a new way through. Is th...| FILM FREAK CENTRAL

Patreon recently announced that they will restructure their fees, but they are doing so in such a way that hurts me, and hurts my patrons. For a $1 contribution, they'd charge $1.35, and each contribution would be charged individually, instead of one bulk charge at the start of the month. This makes small contributions very expensive, especially when one does many small contributions.| asylum.madhouse-project.org
The past few weeks were quite a challenge, but we are slowly settling down at our new place (where I now have a proper desk, with enough space for all the gadgets, whee!), and Chrysalis has been moving forward nicely too, with some major changes all around the place. While you can see some of those changes in the video below (just compare it to the previous one!), a lot of the changes were made under the hood, and can't be seen. I'll be going into more details, but first, lets see how things ...| asylum.madhouse-project.org
The past month has been eventful in many ways: we've seen the Twins three times on ultra sound, made huge progress towards moving to a bigger apartment, and last but not least, tremendous progress was made on Chrysalis. It even has useful features now, so much so, that an alpha release was tagged too. You can see a demo video just below, and try the pre-built binaries yourself, no Kaleidoscope-powered hardware required, either!| asylum.madhouse-project.org
As promised last time, I will be sharing Kaleidoscope-related developments more often, and as it happens, there are interesting news to share today!| asylum.madhouse-project.org
In the span of two weeks, we made a few big leaps forward with the Kaleidoscope firmware, and it is now possible to remap keys on the keyboard without using any software on the host. We can just do it on-the-fly using nothing else than the keyboard. While this is pretty awesome, it's not the most convenient thing, and has its share of limitations. Yet, it has its uses. Among others, it is one of the best examples to show how all the small pieces fit together, and can be used to build somethin...| asylum.madhouse-project.org
