I keep on seeing this come up where people want to support someone on Patreon but not be on the patron Discord. They’ll leave the Discord and then get automatically readded and it becomes incredibly frustrating. For years there was nothing you could do about this except either stop being a patron or ask the Discord in question to ban you (which could have other awful side effects, and make it much more difficult to rejoin if you actually want to).| busybee: General Articles

Donald and Kristin are back from our two-week trip to Japan, and more or less recovered from jet lag. After a disappointing start involving an unexpected overnight stay in San Francisco due to a canceled flight, we did arrive in Tokyo, albeit one day later than expected. We visited Tokyo, Fukuoka, Kobe, and Kyoto, and had wonderful weather for most of our vacation (high 70s or low 80s and sunny; except that it always rained when we were in Tokyo).| Mysterion

Patreon recently announced that they will restructure their fees, but they are doing so in such a way that hurts me, and hurts my patrons. For a $1 contribution, they'd charge $1.35, and each contribution would be charged individually, instead of one bulk charge at the start of the month. This makes small contributions very expensive, especially when one does many small contributions.| asylum.madhouse-project.org
The past few weeks were quite a challenge, but we are slowly settling down at our new place (where I now have a proper desk, with enough space for all the gadgets, whee!), and Chrysalis has been moving forward nicely too, with some major changes all around the place. The past month has been eventful in many ways: we've seen the Twins three times on ultra sound, made huge progress towards moving to a bigger apartment, and last but not least, tremendous progress was made on Chrysalis. It even has useful features now, so much so, that an alpha release was tagged too. In the span of two weeks, we made a few big leaps forward with the Kaleidoscope firmware, and it is now possible to remap keys on the keyboard without using any software on the host. We can just do it on-the-fly using nothing else than the keyboard. While this is pretty awesome, it's not the most convenient thing, and has its share of limitations. Yet, it has its uses.
