This is the final prototype. One last chance to verify everything before we go into production. Thanks to everyone who’s already reserved theirs. If you haven’t yet, there’s still time! Here, we talk about controls.| Cycfi Research
We’ve received GOTOH parts and prototypes for the E-Whammy, with final hardware to be finished in black chrome. The basic E-Whammy outputs 0–5V CV and works best with an active guitar or the Nexus GK MIDI module. Optional CV-to-expression and CV-to-MIDI (possibly Wi-Fi) modules are also in development.| Cycfi Research
After reading my post about the e-whammy, Béla Becker proposed a clever approach using two offset, inverting half-wave rectifiers to define a deadband window. Their summed output naturally centers at 2.5 V, avoiding the jump present in the original design.| Cycfi Research
Stability is key for the E-Whammy. I designed a circuit that snaps the output to the exact center pitch within a user-defined range, ensuring precise control and a return to neutral when the bar is released.| Cycfi Research
