Once again it’s time to dip into Peter Davison’s audio adventures with Big Finish. So much for posting every day in June – I didn’t make it yesterday. I was too busy with traveling, voting, cooking, and preparing everything for today’s day in the office. Bluewater Comics publishes multiple lines of biographies of famous figures from politics, history and entertainment. I was excited when I saw they were publishing a graphic novel featuring actors from Doctor Who - you may not have noticed, but I'm something of a fan. Bluewater's biographical comics don't have the best reputation among comic fans, but I had yet to read one for myself and decided to keep an open mind. My verdict? I've made you a video! Mel, played by Bonnie Langford, was a companion to the Sixth and Seventh Doctors, and was without a doubt the screamiest in a long line of screamers. Hey, it's a new series! Not Doctor Who, that's been around for almost fifty years. No, I'm talking about this series, in my blog - I'm going to take a close look at every single episode of Doctor Who, one by one, from the very beginning. I'm calling it "Episodes", because in a fit of dullness I called my series on the companions "Companions" and now I feel obliged to continue the theme. Given how often I update my blog and how many episodes there have been, I expect none of us will live to se...| Die, Hideous Creature... Die!

Valentine's Day is bearing down on us once again! Last year I looked at the worst companion romances in Doctor Who history because I'm a cynical single bastard. I'm still a cynical single bastard, but I'm going to take a slightly happier tack this year. Enough with the companions, let's take a look at the many, many loves of the Doctor himself! Let's start with the obvious, and work backwards, shall we?| Die, Hideous Creature... Die!
In 1965, less than two years after Doctor Who aired its first episode, the good Doctor made his big screen debut in Dr. Who and the Daleks. The film starred Peter Cushing as eccentric scientist Doctor Who, who lived in a cozy little nondescript house in London with his granddaughters Susan and Barbara. Doctor Who built "Tardis", a time and space machine, and kept it in his back garden. While showing his new invention off to Barbara's boyfriend Ian, the quartet were accidentally whisked off t...| Die, Hideous Creature... Die!

Doctor Who may be a science-fiction show at its core, but it's had its dalliances with the supernatural on more than one occasion. I said the eras would start dropping quickly, and I was right. I started McCoy’s era on 20 Apr, and on 31 of May, McCoy’s era ended. That we got three series at all out of the show in the late 80’s is something of a miracle itself. Only this time it took all of Doctor Who with it. The show ended on 6 Dec 1989 after starting on 23 Nov 1963. That’s 26 series and 700ish episodes (depending on how you count – I wrote about that elsewhere) before it ended here.| A Cup of Joe
Well, that was fast. It’s 19 Apr, and on 20 Mar I had just started the sixth Doctor’s run, and here we are at the end. Sun 19 Mar 2023 brings yet another milestone in my Doctor Who Marathon. I reached the end of Peter Davison’s era with Episode 4 of “The Caves of Androzani”. What a way to bow out. Well, on 9 Jan 2023, I reached another milestone in my Doctor Who Marathon. I completed the Fourth Doctor’s run with episode 4 of “Logopolis”.
