It seems like it happens overnight. I walk outside one morning and the redbud tree in my front yard is in bloom; its pink blooms (yes, they’re pink despite the tree’s name) are accompanied by the powerful scent wafting from the wisteria that’s attached itself to my mailbox; and peeking out all around both of them are yellow daffodils.
