I recently rediscovered a gem of a comic I had completely forgotten about. In 1986, Marvel's "Epic" line of creator-owned comics published Alan Weiss' seminal masterpiece Steelgrip Starkey and the All-Purpose Power Tool, a six-issue limited series. I was astonished to discover that Mr. Weiss is openly heterosexual, because this comic is every bit as gay as you thought it was when you read that title two and a half seconds ago.
