Framer is the hot new website builder that competes with Webflow. Fun fact: Framer as a company didn’t begin as a website builder. Even after raising their $24M Series B in 2018, Framer was a design and prototyping tool. More like Figma than Webflow. Business growth had slowed and they had (I’m assuming, based on my startup experience) months of painful conversations about pivoting the business. They pivoted away from prototyping into web building.
