- + tl;dr - Turns out the tar archives created by podman didn’t work properly for my kubernetes cluster, and podman doesn’t support linking. I went back to docker (which is containerd underneath), and am a happy camper again. I also discuss some options for hosting your own registries. After [writing about switch to podman]podman-post (and writing a follow up), I recently had to switch back to docker and enable rotoless containers there (the ever-useful Arch Wiki makes it easy).
