I have four barred Plymouth Rock hens. They’re just over a year old and have been laying consistently since they were about 16-18 weeks old. Their first eggs were smallish. But the size has steadily increased. I generally get three to four eggs a day. They’re a joy to handle, easy going, no fighting. But, two of them are quite broody. Other then that, I highly recommend.
