CHICAGO (Feb. 26, 2025) – Our region’s public transit system is facing an imminent crisis as federal relief funds that have propped up the system in the wake of COVID will be exhausted by 2026. While ridership is rebounding, revenues will fall short of the annual operating funds needed by $750 million.
