It was great to get so much positive reaction to my essay “Some were meant for C”, so thanks to everyone concerned. In fact, thanks to everyone who's read it, even if you didn't like it! There were lots of things the essay didn't cover, and a few which it did only on a way that perhaps wasn't very obvious. And there were a few common patterns running through various reactions. All these seemed worth addressing directly in a few paragraphs, which I'll hopefully keep brief. What about C++? ...
