In the aftermath of World War II, scientists were left to grapple with how to safely treat the legacy nuclear waste that was stored in underground tanks. Amita Bedar, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Notre Dame, has dedicated herself to this mission, joining an interdisciplinary team of scientists at partnering universities in a project called IDREAM.
