We are dismayed to hear of the police-instigated murder of Victor Perez, a nonspeaking Latino autistic 17-year-old with cerebral palsy and an intellectual disability. On 5 April 2025, Victor was shot nine times and murdered by Pocatello, Idaho, police. The police were called to support Victor with a mental health crisis, but instead of helping him, they killed him only minutes after they appeared outside his home.
