Paul wrote "whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Rom.14:23). He also penned in Romans 6:11, "consider yourselves dead to sin but alive to God". So to enjoy all that God is and all that He has, we must simply exercise faith - i.e., believe! - that we are already dead to self, the senses, and all that is of the old sin nature.
