I like Markdown as a simple way of formatting text. I use it for my presentations using reveal.js, for writing blogposts, and for writing advice notes. One of the main reasons that I switched to the glitch-soc fork of Mastodon was its support for Markdown. glitch enables me to create toots in Markdown, in whatever client I want, and converts my Markdown-formatted toots to html, for others to view.
