sPHENIX is a radical makeover of the PHENIX experiment, one of the original detectors at Brookhaven Lab’s Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). It includes many new components that significantly enhance scientists’ ability to learn about quark-gluon plasma (QGP).
