The Phnom Penh Capital Court yesterday sent Keo Heang, a member and provincial secretary of the Nation Power Party (NPP), to pre-trial detention in Kampong Speu provincial prison. Heang was arrested on 7 July 2025 after he published Facebook posts critical of the government and was sent to pre-trial detention following charges of “incitement to disturb social security” and “insult” under Articles 494, 495 and 502 of the Criminal Code.
