The journey to work for Canon Andrew White from his family home in rural Hampshire to his fortified parish in Baghdad couldn't be more bizarre. Flying into the Iraqi capital via Amman, White dons a flak jacket under his crucifix as he is escorted by 35 armed bodyguards past concrete bollards and razor wire to his St George's Church compound just outside the Green Zone.
