The anime adaptation of Takopi’s Original Sin is the extraordinary result of a bold producer, an overlooked director, and an up-and-coming studio joining hands to make choices others don’t dare to. A tough path, but in the end, a stunning embodiment of the series’ plea for communication. If you are sensitive to depictions of physical abuse and suicidal behavior, I would advise approaching Takopi with care.
