After being diagnosed with dystonia at the age of 12, Austin underwent deep brain stimulation, or DBS, at the UF Health Fixel Institute, a pioneering provider for DBS treatment. Now 24, Austin’s dystonia is controlled, and he lives a fulfilling and active life.
