On 18 August 2025, Eam Ravuth, a district deputy chief of Nation Power Party (NPP) in Phnom Penh, was sent to Correctional Centre 1 (CC1) prison, following the charge of "Insulting the King" made by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court under Article 437 (bis) of the Criminal Code. Ravuth was missing since 15 August 2025, and his family didn't know his whereabouts, until the Commissariat of Phnom Penh Municipal Police released a public statement on 19 August 2025 of his arrest and charge of Ravuth.
