(1926–2022) was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, author, and peace activist who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King Jr. He was a pioneer of engaged Buddhism, founded the Plum Village sangha, and popularized mindfulness around the world.
