I don’t want AI bots scraping my website. Apart from the licensing issue if the scraped content is used inappropriately[1], I’m very concerned about the environmental impact of AI in terms of the power and water consumption of data centres as well as electronic waste. The proliforation of AI bots is probably a temporary phenomenon since the AI bubble – hype and over-investment coupled with limited results – is likely to pop within a few years.
