I’ve been working on infrastructure for streaming my own videos, and part of that work is deciding on which video codecs and settings I want to use. There are a bewildering number of options for ffmpeg and there doesn’t seem to be any consensus on what actually works best. I figured that the only way to really know would be to run a set of tests myself and see what the results looked like.
