On 1 January 2024, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will have 672,050 inhabitants, 1.7% more than a year earlier. This population increase is less than in 2022 (an increase of 2.4%), a year marked by the arrival of large numbers of Ukrainian war refugees. This growth rate of 1.7% is one of the lowest in the last decade (where the rate varied from 2.0 to 2.5%), with the exception of the COVID-19 years (growth rates in 2020 and 2021 of 1.4 and 1.7% respectively).
