Soeng Heang, the Nation Power Party temporary district chief in Phnom Preuk District, Battambang province, was arrested on 30 August 2025 and sent to the Battambang Police Commissariat for questioning over expression critical of the government's handling of the Cambodian-Thai border conflict that he allegedly commented on a Facebook post of Um Sam An, a former opposition parliamentarian.
