Thy Thorn, a vice president of the Khmer Student Intelligent League Association (KSILA) had his bail request denied by the Phnom Penh Capital Court this morning. Thorn has now spent over a year in prison, following his arrest in August 2024 where he was charged with “plotting” under Article 453 of the Criminal Code. If convicted, Thorn could face up to 10 years in prison.
