On September 9th, Israel launched an attack against Hamas leadership and a negotiator in Qatar. This attack looks counter-productive, since (according to Qatar) it makes a deal for the remaining hostages less likely, it goes against the US position, and it's a breach of diplomatic principles. Hamas is probably well prepared to replace its leadership given that some have been killed by Israel, so what is the point of this attack?
