The ancient kingdom of Macedon was a Hellenic kingdom related to the southern Hellenic states. However, it had many distinct features which were either out of use or simply not in practice in Southern Greece. Why is that? For example Macedon was a kingdom while the political structure of southern Greeks were city-states,they used horses a lot which Southern Greeks didnt,they were using mass tombs while Southern Greeks didn't etc...
