Since early 2025, Hanoi has taken big strides in renovating public spaces, from tearing down the iconic “Shark Jaw” building to cleaning up the once-infamous Tô Lịch River. Now, even bigger projects are on the way: a revamped Đông Kinh Nghĩa Thục Square, a new 2.14-hectare square–park east of Hoàn Kiếm Lake, and a 14-kilometre riverside park turning the Tô Lịch into green, cultural, and community spaces.
