My father used to tell me of the times when he would trade comics at the nearest comic books shop. Unlike now days where they are seen as sacred books --at least for the few superhero fans I've met over the years--, back in the '60s they were a form of entertainment no different than a wooden train or marbles. There was no fear on touching them with their small, greasy hands of a teen. They would only take good care of them as they could trade them for a more recent one.
