A storm system will track across the south central U.S. later today through this weekend. Severe thunderstorms and areas of heavy to excessive rainfall are forecast over parts of the southern Plains into the lower Mississippi River Valley. An atmospheric river followed by a Pacific storm will bring periods of gusty winds with low elevation heavy rain and high elevation snow to the Northwest U.S.
