One of the interesting things I find about technology, and our relationship to it, is the way it goes in cycles and renewed enthusiasm arises for past approaches that we thought had been superseded. For example, virtual worlds, or e-portfolios seem to get reinvented in a slightly different guise every 5 years or so.
