I'm writing a fantastical story and one of the characters needs to cut open a cow equivalent. What kind of knife (shape, size, handle kind) was used to butcher cows? I looked online and only found references to brands of knives that work well. I don't feel like I can trust these results as my story does not have the infrastructure for factories.
