I learned the term “friendcatcher” in 2021. It was internet-minted in 2009 from a HackerNews comment. If you look closely it was first uttered by none other than @patio11’s mom. I have been working on a small repertoire of cocktails which always makes gatherings more fun and very much in the spirit of the word “friendcatcher”. (You know you were just punned right?)
