Spanish is not the only language spoken in Latin America, and it’s not even native to it. However, language proficiency is an imaginary metric of Latinidad. We see it with the terms “no sabo kid” and "não sabo kid," which refers to someone who isn’t fluent in Spanish or Portuguese.
