After a four hour hearing on January 8, Judge H. Thomas Padrick granted a motion to disqualify the Albemarle County Commonwealth's Attorney's office in the case against Jacob Dix. The case will now be tried by a special prosecutor. Dix was arrested in July of 2023 on a felony charge
